Asian American Studies is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of Asian diasporic movements in an increasingly global society.

As Asian Americans constitute a diverse community of people from East Asia, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands, with various religious affiliations, class backgrounds, and immigration histories, Asian American Studies offers a range of methodological approaches (drawn from history, literature, psychology, sociology, political science, and education) to foster greater understanding of the many political and cultural contributions of Asian Americans around the world.
